Great White Shark
Found in all of the major oceans
Most are 11-13 feet long, but some grow to 20 feet
Lifespan is estimated to be 70 years - they don’t reach maturity for 26-33 years
They can swim over 35 mph
It has no known natural predators, but if a killer whale gets too hungry, they might have a problem
Responsible for more recorded human bite incidents than any other shark
No aquarium in the world is currently believed to own one- it would not be logistically feasible to keep the great white shark in captivity
The date back about 16 million years
They rarely attack their own kind (we could learn from them)
Mating behavior has yet to be observed in the species
They population is considered VULNERABLE, but its hard to get a good estimate on their numbers
